You'll learn four essential knitting techniques and begin your first project - a washcloth from ethically sourced or recycled cotton or bamboo.

Each attendee will also take home a workbook, a ball of yarn, and knitting needles to complete their projects.

Insectmania Embroidery

Saturday, 27 April 2024
Ruth Faulkner Library, Belmont

For adults and young people 16+

Historical textiles often feature fantastical embroidery designs. Some of the most popular designs in the Elizabethan and Victorian eras drew inspiration from the natural world. The embroidery of insects - both in visible mending and as decorative items has recently had a resurgence in popularity.

In this workshop, you will learn some basic hand embroidery techniques —which have remained unchanged throughout the ages—and embroider a small design to take home.

No experience is required; bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
